MAT CUTTER
The Mat cutter is used to cut bevelled edged windows into mat board of different colours and designs. The bevelled edge ensures that no shadow falls onto the art work. Boards of differing colour highlight the general theme of an art work. Often double mats are cut, the second one placed behind the first and only showing about 4mm of colour highlighting a specific colour or tone within the art work.

Double mats can really lift the art work and help direct the viewer's eye to the main theme of the art work. This bevel cutter is unique, it can cut clean oval, circle, straight line or even freehand shapes with ease. Other mat cutters need attachments costing up to $200 to cut ovals and circles. It is free to cut to any size and shape you require. (try a star or octagon or a combination of an arc and straight line). It is compact, easy to store and is almost indestructible.

The cutter has been designed to cut from the front of the mat board allowing you to see exactly where you are cutting from and to. With this feature over-cuts are eliminated and multiple matt lay out becomes very simple. However it can be used to cut from the back if you so desire.

To cut ovals and circles you will need templates to run around and for straight lines a quality non slip ruler of suitable length is required.
